Simple, secure payments through Stripe
When an owner approves your request, Stripe securely processes the rental payment. Redmond Rentals keeps 15% as a platform fee, and the remaining 85% goes to the tool owner.
For renters
Your rental fee is charged through Stripe after approval. A refundable security deposit is authorized separately and released when the tool is returned in good condition.
For tool owners
You receive 85% of each rental transaction through the Stripe marketplace payout flow. The 15% platform fee supports secure payments and running Redmond Rentals.

Where can I read the rental agreement?

Why are rentals limited to 5 days?
Stripe only lets us keep the security-deposit authorization open for a limited time, so we cap rental requests at 5 days to keep deposits safe and reliable.
How do deposits work?
The security deposit is authorized, not charged. If the tool comes back in good condition, the hold is released. Damage claims can capture part or all of the deposit.
How do tool owners get paid?
Owners complete Stripe Connect onboarding in their profile. After a renter pays and the request is approved, 85% goes to the owner and 15% stays with the platform.
