Rental Agreement

This Rental Agreement governs each individual rental transaction between a tool Owner and a Renter facilitated through Redmond Rentals ("the Platform"). By requesting or approving a rental, both parties agree to the terms below in addition to the general Terms of Service.
1. Rental period
The rental period, daily rate, and total rental fee are set at the time of the request and shown on the rental's detail page. Late returns may be subject to additional daily charges at the Owner's discretion, arranged directly between the parties.
2. Security deposit
Where a deposit is required, it is authorized (held) on the Renter's payment method when payment is confirmed - not charged. It is released in full when the Owner confirms the tool was returned in good condition, or partially/fully captured if the Owner reports damage, up to the listed deposit amount.
3. Pickup
The Renter must present the 6-digit checkout code shown on their rental page to the Owner at pickup. The Owner confirms pickup by entering this code in the Platform, which marks the rental as picked up and starts the rental period.
4. Condition and care
The Renter agrees to use the tool safely, only for its intended purpose, and to return it in the same condition as received, ordinary wear and tear excepted. The Renter is responsible for any loss, theft, or damage occurring during the rental period.
5. Return
The Owner inspects the returned tool and confirms its condition ("Good" or "Damaged") in the Platform. A "Damaged" confirmation should include notes and, where applicable, an estimated repair/replacement amount to capture from the deposit.
6. Disputes
If the Renter disagrees with a damage assessment, they may contact Platform support within 48 hours of the return confirmation. Redmond Rentals may review evidence from both parties and adjust the outcome.
7. Cancellations
Either party may cancel a rental request before it is paid for. Once paid, cancellation terms are handled case-by-case through Platform support.
8. Ratings
After a rental is completed, both parties may rate and review each other based on their experience.
